GREENGUARD^® Certification ensures that a product has met some of the world’s most rigorous and comprehensive standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into indoor air.

Sauder Education has long advocated for designing and building environmentally responsible seating products. Many Butler products have received GREENGUARD^® certification, and we continually work to achieve certification on every product.

Indoor air quality (IAQ) is closely tied to health, it’s an important concern in homes, schools, healthcare environments, and commercial spaces.  Certification provides the market with solutions and resources to identify products with low chemical emissions and provides manufacturers with credible tools to legitimize and promote their sustainability efforts.
